MLMUG's Elected Officers

MLMUG is a volunteer based organization. It is the volunteers who make the group succeed and thrive. We are very blessed with the experience and expertise of our Board Members. They manage, run, and promote all the activities within the User Group. Below are some of the contributors who help make MLMUG the best User Group on the Main Line. Their work is behind or in front of everything, which keeps MLMUG running throughout the year.

Maria has been a Main Line resident since 1970. She is a native of Nicaragua but became an American citizen in 1964. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Loyola University of New Orleans and her Master of Science Degree from West Chester University in Pennsylvania. Since retiring from the Philadelphia School System as a science teacher and as a science department head, her newfound time has allowed her to become more involved with her Mac and the User Group Community. Her love of the Macintosh goes as far back as 1984. Since joining MLMUG in 1997 she has served as Special Projects Coordinator and Member at Large.

Moe has been a Downingtown resident since 1980, when he left the US Air Force and California. Born and raised in New England, he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Lowell Technological Institute, Lowell, MA, and his Master of Science in Engineering Management from Northeastern University (suburban campus), Burlington, MA. Since leaving the military, he has been a systems engineer in Valley Forge, with General Electric Aerospace, which became Martin Marietta, and is now Lockheed Martin. He was active in the Mainline Commodore Users Group, serving as VP there, too, until he WON a Macintosh SE in GE's United Fund drive in 1989. Since joining MLMUG in 1990, he has served eight consecutive one-year terms as MLMUG Vice President; has just completed three consecutive one-year terms as MLMUG President; and was concurrently for 3.3 years, and still is, MLMUG Webmaster. He has been the Intermediate and Advanced SIG Leader for about ten years, as well. Of course, he has also continuously authored "In Moe's Humble Opinion (IMHO)", a monthly column in this newsletter, for about 6 years.

Mary has served as Secretary of MLMUG since January 2001. A native Philadelphian, Mary is employed as an administrative assistant by a local printing firm where she first learned about the Mac. Seeing how easy it was to operate, sparked her interest in purchasing one for personal use. Eager for more information, she joined MLMUG in June of 1996. From mid-1997 through 2000, she took notes at the Intermediate and Advanced Users SIG that were edited by Moe and posted to the ListServ.

Bob Barton lives with his wife Karen in Bryn Mawr, PA. He owns several Macs and three cats. Bob works at Lockheed Martin in King of Prussia and is forced to use Wintel PCs, a Sun (UNIX) workstation and an IBM "big iron" mainframe but he still has a PowerBook 1400 available for emergency relief use. His degrees are in electrical and mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Villanova and a law degree from Temple. He has been MLMUG's treasurer and membership chairperson for several years. He also helps Dr. Mike with the New Users SIG.

Sally grew up in Havertown and has lived in Radnor with her husband, Mark since 1975. She studied fashion design at Pennsylvania State University and interior design at Harcum Jr. College. Recently retired from her interior design business, she fills her time with digital photography, art classes, piano, gardening and reading. Her iMac has become a large part of daily life for learning, communicating, home record keeping and fun. Sally and Mark have been members of MLMUG since February, 2001. Mark became a "switcher" and now uses a G4 Power Book in running his office.
