Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Apples

I love changing my screen savers often on my 22" cinema display, 1440 x 900 pixels/millions of colors and I love looking at the screen savers included with my Mac. But the most that these offer me for motion is the Ken Burns Effect or various transitions. I also love changing my screen wallpaper so it shows some of my favorite photos. But with the Serene Saver 2 HD, a screensaver/animated desktop combination, you can view incredibly beautiful animated nature scenes like an ocean surf, complete with sounds of waves crashing on rocks and seagulls flying nearby. There are other spectacular scenes such as: A Gentle Moment, Autumn Lamplight, Butterflies Flutter By, Cowabunga Dude, Forest Waterfall, Fun Zone, Golden Sunset, Grass is Greener, Gull, In No Time, Into the Light, Leaves & Berries, Liquid Gold, Ocean Point, Orangina, Palm Gardens, Pretty in Pink, Reflections, Rising Sun, Serene Saver, Shasta Blue, Smooth Clouds, Vapor Trail, and Waves on a Rocky Shore. My favorite of all is the Golden Sunset because you get to actually watch the sun set.

In the program's Preferences you can set them to take a break from time to time and just relax and view nature scenes complete with sound.

They get a lot of ohhhs and ahhhs from Macintosh User Group members when I demo them.

I have had no crashes or lock-ups on either my Intel MacBook Pro or my G5 Desktop Mac.

I found the sounds extremely annoying due to repetition but you can turn off the sound and just watch your favorite scenes, while you play your music through iTunes.

My favorite animated screen saver is still Marine Aquarium 2.6 from SereneScreen.com but it is not animated wallpaper like Serene Saver 2 HD.

I am looking forward to the improvements in future releases of Serene Saver 2 HD, such as longer loops for the various scenes, maybe some scenes of the 7 wonders of the world, and true high definition 1080p quality.
