Send your Sims packing for a vacation with the sixth expansion pack Bon Voyage. It's time to get away from it all and go to three exotic locations. Choose from a tropical island, a mountaintop, or the Far East. Transform them into sophisticated international travelers as they learn new customs including local greetings, dances, local cuisines and more while making this the trip of a lifetime. The graphics are stunning on my Apple 23-inch Cinema HD and using a Mac Pro. I took my Sims to a luxury hotel in Twikki Island's South End Beach to meet new friends and to learn new customs. They swim, shop, enjoy room service and a spa, and gather around a bonfire at night to exchange experiences and stories about the day's events. The goal is to educate your Sims so they can get the most out of their vacation. There are opportunities for them to learn the ways of the natives and become part of the culture, free from embarrassment due to ignorance. They can also bring newly found friends back home with them. The game brings with it special wants and fears that will affect your skill points if they're realized. Some of the vacations offer a choice from six different rewards with 48-hour effects. The Sims' problems are left behind and only fun and games are in the present. They don't risk job performance, friendships, grades, etc. There is plenty to do which adds to the enjoyment of the game. Take lots of photos of all the fun. In Bon Voyage you can ask another Sim to assume a pose in front of a particular spot before clicking the shutter button. You can then arrange your photos in Story Mode and buy prints with Simoleons to enlarge and hang on the walls at home or to display on tables. Sims can remember all the fun this way. You will enjoy the fun with the Sims as they take tours like glass bottom boats, exciting van tours, and other excursions. One of the new features is the jewelry they can buy and wear or take home as gifts. They can also dig up new-found treasures on the beach. There are local personalities to meet and enjoy. The interface is simple, easy to grasp, elegant, and with a simple phone call and a few choices, the Sims are on their way to a glorious vacation. It was a lot of fun and addictive to play. There are many surprises along the way and secrets to discover, too. I asked my 12-year-old granddaughter how she liked Bon Voyage and she loved the jewelry. She suggested that the Sims could use more designer clothes. She loves the music, although not new with this pack, that comes out of the radio, especially the Latin sounds. She said she would put those on her iPod if she could. It is time to put iPods on the shopping list, too. This is one of the fun packs I've enjoyed the most. I strongly recommend Bon Voyage to all the Sim aficionados. It will keep you entertained for hours.
