Pros: This is a cool game for practicing logic and improving one's agility and speed. The graphics are attractive and varied. The game is easy to learn but gets harder as you master the successive levels. Cons: The background Russian music is annoying and doesn't fit the game, depending on your perspective. The game is easier to play with an external mouse. I used a cordless wireless notebook mouse. The game took about a minute to load on an iBook G4 with a 1.2 GHz Power PC processor, 256 MB RAM, and 32MB video RAM. The help menu is adequate, but not very extensive. Summary: Arctic Quest is an interactive game in which you must defeat the "Snow King" who has cast a crippling frost on a tropical island. This game should be taught to children with a lesson in mind about the reverse effects of global warming in certain cases instead of the typical warming trend. It is a good game if you want to relax for a while. It is for beginners, but one can be challenged as they progress by mastering each level. Overall Rating: I would definitely recommend this game for entertainment and fun for all ages. There are 60 puzzles to solve before reaching the Snow King's castle thus breaking the spell. I didn't reach that level, but it is reported that you get to fight the Snow King, which is the capstone: to get the island back to normal: the typical global warming. |
