![]() Halloween Berray Style Submitted by Marian Berray Background: Marian Berray says that back in the '70s, Halloween was a favorite night for our family. For years, our house was known as the "Haunted House of Colony Lane." Jim was the Frankenstein monster (mask in photo), and I was a ghoul. Trick or Treaters were invited inside to experience a scary performance by Jim and me. While the show was going on, our three sons, dressed up in frightening masks and homemade costumes, made their rounds to friends and neighbors. Last year we brought the Halloween costume box down from the attic, lined up some of the masks, hats, beards, and wigs on the sofa and took this photo. Then, on Halloween night 2010, as each group of "trick or treaters" came to the door, in addition to candy, we offered a mask to anyone who wanted one. By night's end, they were all gone. A final goodbye to our family Halloweens. By the way, the price sticker was still on the Frankenstein monster mask. It was 69 cents. A cheap plastic mask that lasted for years.
