Book Review
by Maria O. Arguello

Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard Peachpit Learning Series Book:
Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard
Peachpit Learning Series

Author: Robin Williams

Publisher: Peachpit Press

ISBN: 0-321-50263-9

Pages: 458

Price: $29.99 US

Level: Beginners

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 apples

The book is great for beginners, which is a testimony to the writing skills of this superb author and teacher, Robin Williams. The book is part of Peachpit's Learning Series, which lets you learn at your own pace. There are beautiful color illustrations throughout the book, as well as tips galore. The binding is good and it will lay it flat on a table without any assistance. Its Index is very good.

This book covers many, many new features in Leopard. It will help you take advantage of hidden gems this new cat has to offer, including the most popular ones like Spaces, Quick Look, Time Machine, Mail, and iChat.

I have always admired Robin Williams as an author and teacher of all things Macintosh since my first Robin Williams book, The Little Mac Book. I wish I had had this book with me for her autograph when I ran into her at Macworld San Francisco 2008. She was friendly and engaging and allowed everyone who wanted to, to be photographed with her.

If you want to meet her and spend some time with her, she will on the cruise Shakespeare at Sea 2, in the Eastern Caribbean, on November 7-17, 2008. Another of her passions is Shakespeare. How about that--from the Mac to Shakespeare, something completely different! As an example see:
Sweet Swan of Avon: Did a Woman Write Shakespeare?
