The updated operating systems bring big updates to apps you use every day — like Messages and Photos. There is a whole new way to share content with your family and there are exciting new connections between apps and between devices.

Steve Zalot Steve Zalot is a Senior Systems Engineer with Apple Inc. and has over 30 years experience supporting, consulting and presenting Appleʼs technologies and products. Steve maintains certifications in Appleʼs Certified System Administrator and Final Cut Pro programs in support of his specialties in digital media and education technology architecture. Video, photography and mobile devices are among the many topics on which Steve presents, as he travels the Mid-Atlantic area speaking with a growing base of Apple fans. .

How to protect yourself and why you should and A private cloud for everyone.

There is a great perception that Mac OS X is invulnerable to virus and malware. Not only is that perception wrong, it is dangerous! Under the covers, Mac OS X is a variant of Berkley Unix called Darwin.

We explored various vulnerabilities and how you can protect your computer. We also explored why you need to protect your Mac and any computer that you own and why it is your responsibility.

Virtualization (e.g. Parallels, VirtualBox, etc.) and the cloud are also popular subjects. We discussed options with virtualization software and how you can make the most of it.

Joe Mysko Our October presenter, Joe Mysko, started his career at Commodore. Joe graduated to the aerospace industry and has been involved in projects such as GPS, LandSat and Earth Observation satellites and has held high level security clearances beyond Top Secret. Over the past 3 decades, Joe has designed numerous Internet Gateways for Fortune 500 Companies such as GE, NBC, Vanguard, Mellon Bank, Martin Marietta and Lockheed. His skills include Internet security and especially securing Internet application layer protocols. Joe currently works as a Senior Operations Manager at a Fortune 50 company in the Philadelphia Region.
